ABOUT
JEN'S FRIENDS
Our Mission

In the fight against cancer, you can never have too many friends.

Our Philosophy

In accomplishing our mission, we are guided by the following principles and beliefs. We:

  • Recognize that all persons diagnosed with cancer can be empowered to maintain a sense of normalcy and focus on healing. We provide financial and human resources to assist clients and families while they are battling cancer.

  • Raise and disburse funds that are used for direct client-based needs.

  • Promote and foster partnerships with other community-based groups. We participate in community events and promotions in order to build awareness of our mission.

100% Volunteer

Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation is operated entirely by volunteers. There is no paid staff.

We are a registered not-for-profit organization in the State of New Hampshire with federal 501(c)(3) status. All donations to Jen’s Friends are tax-deductible.

Where The Money Goes

Your contributions are used to provide supplemental financial assistance to clients. That means that we supplement existing financial resources to pay for non-medical expenses that are not covered by other programs such as Medicare, fuel assistance, etc.

The types of support given to a client are customized to that client’s situation and financial needs. Some of the expenses Jen’s Friends could support:

  • Rent, mortgage, and taxes

  • Utilities

  • Groceries

  • Travel expenses to and from chemotherapy and radiation treatments

  • Other special expenses to support quality of life

We do not make payments directly to our clients. Instead, we make payments to their vendors, such as the mortgage and utility companies. We also establish accounts at grocery stores and gas stations for our clients and their families.

Your donations are not used to cover direct medical expenses or primary care services. Also not covered is personal travel not associated with approved treatments.
