Million Dollar Party August 18th

This August the Jen's Friends Cancer Foundation will reach a huge milestone. We will have given over one million dollars to families of the Mount Washington Valley to help with their fight against cancer. That also means that the very generous citizens of the Valley have donated over one million dollars to help make that happen. To mark this milestone and to say thank you for all the Valley's generosity over the years, the Jen's Friends Board has decided to throw a party. On August 18th at the base of Cranmore Mountain there will be a free evening of entertainment. Live shows will be performing from 4-10 pm; Zips pub will be open for food and beverages; and Cranmore's Mountain Adventure Park will remain open into the evening for our guests to enjoy (for a fee). The full line up of acts is not yet set but it will definitely be a fun evening for all. Please mark your calendars and plan to be at the base of Mount Cranmore on the evening of August 18th to help celebrate this momentous occasion.

Golf Tournament June 10th

In its third year as a stand alone event, this year's golf tournament proved more successful than ever! The weather cooperated nicely and slots for the tournament were sold out. Overall, this year's tournament raised more than eighteen thousand dollars to help Valley cancer patients. Participants enjoyed a meal at the Red Fox after the event and all walked away with some sort of prize for the day. Jen's Friends would like to thank both the golfers and volunteers that helped make this day another great success.

Upcoming fundraising events
In the next few months there are two big fundraising events to mark on your calendar. On Saturday, August 27th, the 12th annual Lee & Joan Day Memorial Car and Truck Show will take place in Fryeburg, Maine, from 10am to 1pm. Donations for the cookout dinner will go to Jen's Friends Cancer Foundation. The second fundraiser of note is the 14th Annual Hill Climb on Saturday, September 17th. The Hill Climb will once again take place at Mount Cranmore and fundraising for that event is already underway. Check out the link at Jensfriends.org.

Ongoing fundraisers
There are two new long term fundraisers of note. The newest project is a 2012 calendar that was produced by board member Karen Stancik. This beautiful calendar features photos of the local Mount Washington Valley and a portion of the proceeds of this calendar will be donated to Jen's Friends Cancer Foundation. Look for the calendars at Jen's Friends events and at local establishments around the Valley. The other new project is our participation in the Affinity Program at TD Bank North. Members wishing to participate in this program can sign up at their local TD Bank branch office or look for the TD Bank booth at one of our events.
